QA/QC Manager

Candidate will be responsible for managing all CMOS Image Sensor QA/QC activities. Responsibilities include ensuring  products conform to specifications from design and development through production. Technical duties include responsibility for analysis and reports including MTBF, FMEA, failure analyses, Pareto analysis, Corrective / Preventive Action methodology, and Root Cause Analysis, as well as to assist with failure analyses on products and recommend design / process improvement solutions as needed.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Science degree required plus 8+ years of quality, engineering, or supervisory experience in an electronics manufacturing environment with intimate knowledge of CIS/CCD device issues related to ensure product reliability.

  • Strong formal knowledge of quality management systems, engineering, and manufacturing processes to develop and improve systems.

  • Proficient with MTBF, FMEA, failure analyses, Pareto analysis, Corrective / Preventive Action methodology, and Root Cause Analysis.

  • Experience with ISO requirements (e.g., ISO 9001:2000) is preferred.

  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex tasks.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ideal candidate will have experience working with Asian companies in Japan and Taiwan.

  • Japanese language skills are a plus.


CMOS Image Sensor Application Engineer

The position requires the following knowledge and experience: CCD and/or CMOS image sensors, optics, and camera applications; image sensor specifications and measurement methods; image processing techniques for AGC, auto exposure, color balance, color processing, and noise filters; strong communication and technical writing skills; and the ability to work in a team environment with vendors, operations, and iSoC designers to solve customer issues. Also desired is experience with firmware development in VHDL/Verilog and software development for image sensor evaluation. The position requires a BSEE or BS in physics (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience, or an MSEE (or equivalent) with 3+ years of experience.

IC Characterization Engineer/Scientist 

The candidate will be responsible for performing detailed characterization of mixed-signal ASICs. The candidate will collect, analyze, and interpret data on the performance of an imaging array for optical response, noise, spectral response, angular response, and dark current. The candidate will form a close relationship with the design team, providing comprehensive, documented feedback on all aspects of CMOS image sensor performance. In addition, the successful candidate will make recommendations on how particular analog circuits and/or digital data processing methods can be enhanced in subsequent sensor designs. Knowledge of CMOS or CCD image sensors and strong programming and data analysis skills are essential. Experience in PCB design and/or HDL development is desirable. The position requires an MSEE (or equivalent) with 1+ years of experience.

Senior CMOS Image Sensor Product Engineer

The candidate’s responsibilities include new product introduction of next-generation AltaSens CMOS imaging sensors, specification validation, and the release of new product to production, new silicon debug, new product characterization, yield optimization, and cost reduction. Position tasks also include continuous improvement of product through enhancing test coverage, finding root cause of manufacturing problems, and customer failure analysis.

The position requires the following knowledge and experience: CMOS imager operation and architecture, semiconductor wafer manufacturing process, wafer-level micro probing, wafer-level probe testing, and package-level testing, 5-7 years of experience in product or test engineering in CMOS imaging or a related technology, and working knowledge of ATE equipment like Teradyne IP750 or Agilent 93000IP. Preferred experience includes DFT methodology and knowledge of the following tools: HDL, Hspice, Unix, and MatLab. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential. The position requires a BSEE or BS in physics (or equivalent). Japanese language skills are a plus.

Test Engineer

We seek candidates with experience in testing and characterizing ASICs, especially CMOS or CCD image sensors. The successful candidate will be required to evaluate all aspects of image sensor performance and provide clear and comprehensive documentation. The candidate will also have some involvement in establishing production testing tools. Strong knowledge of writing test programs for ATE equipment, such as Teradyne IP750 or Agilent 93000IP, and programming skills using VB, C/C++, Perl, and Tcl scripting. The position requires a BSEE or BS in physics (or equivalent) and 5+ years of experience with software development and data. Experience in PCB design and/or firmware development is desirable.

Digital Design Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for architecture development, RTL coding (Verilog), simulation, synthesis, implementing of DFT solutions (Full Scan, Memory BIST, JTAG, ATPG), and timing analysis. In-depth knowledge of ASIC design and tool flow is required. Digital signal processing (DSP) background with programming skills in MATLAB and C is desired. You will interface with other groups within the company, including front-end design engineering, physical design engineering, product engineering, and production test. The position requires a BSEE and 6+ years of experience with a focus in ASIC design; an MS is desired. Proficiency in programming and scripting in C++, Perl, Tcl, make, and Linux/Unix shell is required. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential.

Senior Analog/Mixed Signal Designer

The successful candidate will perform the following tasks: very-high-performance custom analog and mixed-signal design of electrical circuits, utilizing advanced principles of electrical and computer engineering; simulation, custom circuit layout, parameter extraction, device characterization, and testing of advanced optical electronics, computer chips, and related image sensor products. The candidate will also plan, organize, execute, and thoroughly document complex mixed-signal circuit designs. Other tasks include supervision of engineers engaged in development of technical solutions to customer specifications, determination of the limits of new technology, and invention of novel intellectual properties. Working experience in a related CMOS image sensor field is highly desirable, with an emphasis in low-power, low-noise designs. Strong background in Cadence design tools is required. The position requires an MS in Electric/Electronics Engineering and 6+ years of experience in Analog/Mixed Signal Design or a related field.

Hardware/FPGA Design Engineer

Candidate will be responsible for developing new hardware designs, including system design, board schematics, CPLDs, and FPGAs. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years (5+ years preferred) industry experience with a background in board-level digital/analog circuit design of image processing systems (CMOS/CCD image systems), programmable logic, board bring-up, troubleshooting, and developing firmware.

  • B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree, plus minimum 3 years experience (5+ years preferred) with board-level digital/analog circuit design of image processing systems (CMOS/CCD image systems), programmable logic, board bring-up, lab equipment, troubleshooting, and firmware.

  • Experience in CPLD and FPGA design, development, and verification strongly preferred.

  • Experience with designing custom ASIC packages (CLCC) and custom probe card is a plus.

  • Strong computer programming skills preferred.

  • Must be knowledgeable in Verilog and C/C++. Perl experience a plus.

  • Must have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex tasks.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
     


 

Software Engineer

The successful candidate will contribute to several challenging software efforts. The complex software tools being developed at AltaSens constitute a key element in the development of the highest quality CMOS imaging Sensors-on-Chip (iSoC) in the industry. These tools include high performance data acquisition code with fast, real-time performance analysis, sensor simulation code to provide behavioral models of various iSoC components, along with comprehensive image enhancement software, etc. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the creation of new algorithms aimed at digitally enhancing the image quality in future iSoC sensors. Although the ideal candidate will already have some familiarity with CMOS or CCD imaging applications, it is not essential. It is expected, however, that the candidate will quickly acquire all of the relevant knowledge in order to make informed decisions regarding imaging code development and architecture. The candidate will be fluent in C and will have written several large programs. Knowledge of at least one object-oriented language plus some HDL development experience is highly desirable. Some Matlab experience is also preferred. The position requires a BS or equivalent in computing science or a higher degree in a computing-intensive discipline.

Technical Writer

The technical writer who fills this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical data sheets, reference manuals, user guides, application notes, and marketing brochures for the latest high definition CMOS imaging sensors. The writer will work closely with design engineers, application engineers, and test engineers to write and edit these documents to support our global customer base. This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position.

The successful candidate possesses a superior ability to communicate complex technical information in clear and concise fashion, using standard American English and following AltaSens corporate styles and templates. The candidate is proficient in Adobe FrameMaker and standard desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Front Page. Desirable experience includes previous documentation of image sensors or other semiconductor devices and knowledge of electronics principles. Also desirable is HTML and website development experience. The position requires a BA in English, journalism, or technical communication; or a BS in physics or electronics; and 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical communication position.
